Set in a pine-covered landscape dotted with vineyards, at an altitude of 1,005 metres, stands Tsiakkas Winery. The winery has recently upgraded its facilities, creating a beautiful tasting room with generous capacity, modern infrastructure and a truly unique view.
Aiming to offer upgraded hospitality to locals and tour groups alike, the business set out to create an impressive reception space where visitors can taste the winery's wines while taking in the enchanting vineyards that spread out before their eyes. The location is unique, as the tasting room sits at the highest point of the winery with an uninterrupted view of the surrounding area.
The cost of building the space was covered by the company's own resources and by funding from the Rural Development Programme 2014–2020 / Scheme 19.2: Support for the implementation of operations under the community-led local development strategy of the Troodos Area Communities Development Company Ltd / Action 19.2.2: Investment support for non-agricultural activities.
The funding proposal was submitted on 15 October 2018 to the Local Action Group, Troodos Area Communities Development Company Ltd (LAG), and was approved with a high score. The project was completed in November 2021 and officially opened its doors to all wine lovers.
The total cost of the project came to around €400,000.00, and the total funding from the programme was €140,000.00 towards the construction works.
