The Tsiakkas Winery was founded in 1988 and is located in Pelendri, in Pitsilia region of Limassol district. Its vineyards are in the same area. The cold winters and the cool without rain summers coupled with the poor volcanic soils, help to have vineyards with low yield per hectare which is necessary for producing quality grapes.
Wines are produced from both international and indigenous grape varieties. The wines of the winery are available from winery cellars nationwide, good restaurants and selected supermarkets. Additionally they are exported to Europe and the United States. We welcome visitors daily from Monday to Saturday.
The Winery, solid on tradition, armed with enthusiasm and love for wine, and continually striving to acquire further knowledge, achieved the production of fine wine, for which the beginnings go back to the moment of vineyard planting. From the high altitude (1500 meters) Petralona vineyard, the micro-climatic Keramis vineyard, and the St. John vineyard with its special characteristics, the winery combines the best characteristics of the varieties and produces wines, Commandaria and Zivania, bearing unique characters and strong personalities.
Beyond the quality, the Tsiakkas winery has prioritized dissemination and cultivation of indigenous varieties of vines and the production of wines from the combination of tradition with modern know-how. From Cypriot varieties we produce the Xynisteri, the Vamvakada, and the Giannoudi. We also produce Commandaria and the red Zivania. From the international varieties we produce wines from the vine varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Finally, the winery produces two separate wines which have been successfully established in the Cypriot market. These are Porfyros (Red) and Rodinos (pink). Porfyros contains the grape varieties of Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache, and Mattaro, while Rodinos mainly contains Grenache, and Shiraz.
